Samsung announces Bluetooth controlled Smart Bulbs

samsung_smart_bulbSamsung has announced the launch of a new device for the consumers and this latest product is called a Smart Bulb. A Smart Bulb is basically a Bluetooth connected LED lamp which was unveiled ahead of the Light Building 2014 trade fair to be held at Frankfurt, Germany.

Samsung Smart Bulbs come with a decorative classic design in a light weight body and use the Bluetooth technology which eliminates the need for wireless AP and bridge. These Smart bulbs can be connected and controlled via a tablet PC or a Smartphone via an app. Infact, after downloading the Smart Bulb app from the Google Play Store, users can control and connect up to 60 Smart Bulbs without the need of any additional equipment. What is special about this new product is that the brightness of the Bulb can be dimmed down by 10% and it is also CCT tunable from 2700K to 6500K color temperatures.

Samsung Smart Bulb are LED based and have a lifetime of 15000 hours which is about 10 years. Users of B2B can also install Zigbee Smart Bulb Bluetooth hub so as to control the bulbs from a much far away distance than the Bluetooth range. As of now, the pricing details or the availability details of these Smart Bulbs haven’t been revealed by the company.
